O fedise dintwa le matshwenyeho.

South Afrika, South Afrika.

Uit die blou van onse hemel,

Uit die dieptevan ons see,

Oor ons ewige gebergtes waar die kranse antwoord gee.

Sounds the call to come toghether, and united we shall stand,

Let us live and strive for freedom in South Africa, our land.

TRANSLATION

(Xhosa and Zulu)

God bless Africa,

Lift her horn on high,

Hear our prayers.

God bless us

Who are Your people.

(Sotho)

God save our nation,

End wars and strife.

South Africa.

(Afrikaans)

Ringing out from our blue heavens,

from our deep seas breaking round;

Over everlasting mountains where the echoing crags resound.

In May 1995 was adopted the new version of the National Anthem.

It begins with the Nguni abd Sotho versions of "Nkosi Sikelei iAfrika",

continues with the opening lines of "Die Stem van Suid-Afrika"

and ends with an excerpt from the English version of "The Call of South Afrca".
